About This Project
Fossil Moon Sunset captures the poetry of a fleeting moment: the reflection of the moon or the final glow of the sun over a fossilized sea, transformed into an eternal remnant. In this piece, the mirrored section symbolizes the celestial body, a source of light and guidance in the darkness, while the alabaster portion evokes the mass of water, its fluid movements immortalized as a tangible fossil.
The organic veins and textures of the alabaster recreate the ripples and currents of an ocean frozen in time, evoking a sense of serene melancholy. The contrast between alabaster and mirror suggests a dialogue between the static and the dynamic, the eternal and the transient.
