‘Aqua Fossil’
Aqua Fossil Table explores the fluid and organic forms hidden within alabaster, reinterpreting stone as a material shaped by water and time. Its sculptural compositions evoke erosion patterns, flowing currents, and mineral formations created through natural geological processes.
The piece emerges from an investigation into the origin of Iberian alabaster, a stone formed millions of years ago after the evaporation of ancient seas. The veins, translucent areas, and mineral variations within the material reinforce the sensation of a living matter in constant transformation.
Balancing sculpture and functionality, the work presents alabaster as a liquid fossil: a mineral fragment that preserves the memory of water.
