FOSSIL UNIVERSE

About This Project

Fossil Universe

Illuminated sculpture

Fossil Universe extends the Aqua Fossil series to an imagined planetary landscape. Carved from alabaster, its open, eroded sphere suggests a world once shaped by water and life, now preserved in stone.

A smaller sphere glows within, like a remaining source of energy at the planet’s core. Light filters through the translucent alabaster, revealing its veins, textures and variations in thickness. The weathered outer shell holds this luminous centre, suggesting that something endures even as its surroundings fall away.

Entirely carved, sanded and polished by hand, the sculpture follows the natural character of the stone. Its intimate scale invites a closer look, from the contours of the outer surface to the light held inside.
