Sculptural candle holder in blue alabaster
Carved from a single block of blue alabaster, a rare variety of the stone, the piece evokes the natural formations of a lapiaz — the fissures and folds carved into limestone by the erosion of water over time. Its upper cavity can hold a candle, but also other elements such as a plant, flowers, or even a bonsai, expanding its symbolic and aesthetic possibilities.
Lapiaz exists between functional object and poetic sculpture, bringing together the timeless strength of stone with the delicacy of the ephemeral.
