Carved from a single block of alabaster, Aqua Fossil Drop Table II explores the relationship between water, erosion, and mineral transformation. The piece was created from a carefully selected block distinguished by the contrast between areas of pure white alabaster and others crossed by natural mineral veins and clay infiltrations.
On its upper surface, a subtle water splash appears petrified in time, evoking the aqueous origin of alabaster and the idea of a “liquid fossil.” The exterior surface of the block has been sculpted to recreate natural erosion processes, revealing the textures, cavities, and mineral layers within the stone.
The result is a piece that combines the strength of a raw alabaster block with the delicacy of an ephemeral gesture frozen in stone.
