About us

Artist duo formed by Clara Campo and Aran Lozano based in Spain.
Active in collective design and contemporary art. The studio focuses on the creation of functional pieces and sculptures capable of stimulating the thoughts of the viewer through works that invite to reflect on the world around us.

Amarist Studio is famous for their ‘liquid stone’ artworks; translucent sculptures masterfully formed in alabaster. Originally heavy and opaque, the stone is transformed into a weightless appearance which levitates and emanates its own light.
Alabaster, a recurring material in Amarist’s work, not only pays tribute to their Aragonese roots, but also invites the viewer to reflect on the fragility of our ecosystems, eloquently addressing the current environmental water crisis.

Aran Lozano Amarist studio

Arán Lozano, 1988, grew up in a creative environment surrounded by materials while watching his artisan father work. Since childhood he was given the freedom to play and experiment with different materials and tools in the workshop, which led to the development of his creativity through experimentation, fueling his interest in the creative world.

During his youth he not only lived closely to his father’s work but also had the opportunity to get to know other artisans and artists from different fields such as ceramics, painting, stone or forge. What helped him to generate an important respect and knowledge of crafts and noble materials.

Years later, his background and creative passion led him to become a designer and began his training in additional design methodologies. The experimentation with new technologies, combined with his respect for craftsmanship and materiality, led him to co-found Amarist Studio.

Clara Campo Amarist studio

Clara Campo, 1988, grew up in an international environment between Barcelona and the US East Coast where she discovered the most world-renowned museums and her passion for the Arts.

At 18, she decided to pursue her Architecture & Design studies finishing with a comprehensive year in the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, where she immersed herself in the school’s extensive workshop, experimenting with different materials, parametric design tools and digital fabrication processes.

In 2013, Clara graduated with honors from her Masters in Architecture in Barcelona and began her career as an architect in Palo Alto, California, where she designed and built her first house. Inspired by the entrepreneur spirit of Silicon Valley and moved by her creative restlessness Clara decided to pivot her career to co-found Amarist Studio.

Arán Lozano and Clara Campo met in their fathers’ little hometown in the Pyrinees mountains,They founded their studio in 2014, in Spain, and since then they have been active in the contemporary art and design fields.
The two members of Amarist Studio met in their parents’ small hometown in the Pyrenees, surrounded by nature and an artisanal atmosphere. As they grew and matured they began to share concepts and ideas, beginning their creative practice together. Amarist Studio tends to blur the boundaries between Contemporary Art, Design and Crafts. Creating evocative and functional works. New York, London, Paris, Basel, Miami, Venice, Madrid and Dubai are some of the world’s artistic capitals where Amarist has exhibited their artworks. At the same time, they have been included in articles and highly prestigious international publications such as: The Financial Times, Forbes Magazine, The Washington Post, Harper’s Bazaar or Elle Decoration among others.
Another achievement of the studio was their selection in 2018 by Forbes magazine for the prestigious ‘30 under 30 Europe’ list, placing Arán and Clara among the 30 most influential young people in the field of Art and Culture.

Odile Moreno Art Advisor & Consultan.

My first encounter with the artistic duo Amarist dates back to 2017 in New York. “The City That Never Sleeps” hosted the Art New York art fair the first week in May, at Pier 94 located in the southwest of Manhattan.
It is common for large art fairs to open an exhibition space competition for new rising talents; what surprised me is that the winners were two young Spaniards with such a visually effective proposal and with an even more powerful message.
Amarist, formed by Clara Campo and Arán Lozano, embraced the opportunity and proposed a combination of pieces for the fair headed by the installation: “Welcome?” and complemented with “Fragment of border” and the solidarity jewelry line “Welcome?”
A set of moving works that invited the New York jet-set, regulars at art fairs, to reflect on the exploration of social conflicts, borders and humanitarian issues; a reality far from their daily lives. “Welcome?” served as a clear example of Amarist’s ability to transcend traditional artistic boundaries.
Since then, I understood that Amarist was not simply a collective of artists; they were storytellers, advocates and activists; exposing conflictive situations at an international level and using the universal language of art to convey its message of change.
Over the years they have continued with their great career and perpetuated the task of raising awareness and confrontation, they have created a brand, their work has become recognizable internationally, something essential to survive in the art market and in a world where we are constantly bombarded by images.
