Fossil Moon VI Mirror
About This Project
Fossil Moon VI takes the concept of cycle and permanence into a new phase, reflecting the waxing phase of the lunar cycle. In this piece, the mirror serves not only as a medium of reflection but as a mirror of growth, the gradual expansion of light and energy. The alabaster half, meticulously worked, suggests the passage of time, while the mirrored section evokes the waxing moon, an image filled with light, symbolizing life in expansion, rebirth, and transformation.
In the reflection of the mirror, the viewer sees not only their own image but also the projection of a moon rising, a reminder that time, like the lunar phases, is a continuous process of transformation. The duality between the luminous and the petrified invites reflection on the ongoing evolution of nature and the universe, where even the most fleeting moments find their reflection in the eternal. The mirror does not only reflect but also projects a vision of what is to come, celebrating the constant renewal of life, just as the moon grows in the sky night after night.
